Purported Tweet of Donald Trump Congratulating Akufo-Addo Completely False

Not long after President Akufo-Addo was declared President-Elect by the Electoral Commission of Ghana after the December 7 polls, a Twitter account purporting to be US President Donald Trump’s tweeted congratulating the President -Elect. The tweet has been retweeted about thirty-two thousand times.

Checks by Fact-Check Ghana revealed the US President has not tweeted any such message using his twitter account. The claim is therefore completely False.

Aside from that, no credible news media around the world has reported the claim, though the US President is a person of great stature.

Fact-check Ghana concludes that the account is cloned and therefore, completely false.
