Tweets by some social media users since 24th June, 2020, have gone viral claiming Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, has exposed a supposed evil plan behind COVID-19 in a viral audio message.

According to the tweets, President Akufo-Addo’s alleged exposé is an honest speech from Africa that reveals plans to use COVID-19 to depopulate the world.

“PLAN EXPOSED: President of Ghana on the evil that is going on in the name of COVID-19 masterminded by Bill Gates, Anthony Fauci together with WHO and the Rockefeller Foundation,” one of the posts reads, with an attached YouTube link.

The claim has since been published on some websites including bitchute with popular YouTuber Ron Vaillant also sharing it. Famed US Doctor and author, Christiane Northrup, has also shared it on her verified Facebook page to her over 500,000 followers.

Fact-checkghana.com looked into this claim and found it to be false.

Explanation: As the world fights the COVID-19 pandemic, social media continue to be flooded with many conspiracy theories.

Some of these claims such as COVID-19’s link to 5G have already been fact-checked and found to be false.

But the recent claim, which fact-checkghana.com has sighted, alleges that President Akufo-Addo has made public audio statements to expose an alleged truth that world leaders are working with Microsoft founder, Bill Gates; American physician and immunologist, Anthony Stephen Fauci; and the Rockefeller Foundation to towards a world take over.

We accessed the attached audio which is about 14 minutes long.

In excepts of the clip, the speaker is heard saying: “Dear Fellow Ghanaians, please listen to this extract from the Rockefeller Foundation article….Create a very contagious but super low mortality rate virus to fit the needed plan. And they have SARS/HIV hybrid research strain. So you see, it is not a purely viral think. It is hybrid research strain.

“Once a country has seen infection in place, lockdown incoming/outgoing travel but keep the transmission within the country spread for as long as possible. Once enough people in a country of origin are infected enact forced quarantine and isolation for that area and expand the lockdown regions slowly over time. Overhype the mortality rate by tying the research strain to deaths that have little to nothing to do with the actual virus to keep the fear and compliance at a maximum,” the speaker continued.

Comparing how president Akufo-Addo sounds in this national address on COVID-19 here to the voice claimed to be President Akufo-Addo, the distinction can clearly be noticed.

It is easy to tell that the viral audio clip is not of President Akufo-Addo, although it is unclear who the actual speaker is. The voice does not bear any resemblance with that of President Akufo-Addo of Ghana.

The claim that president Akufo-Addo has spoken in an audio clip to expose the plan behind COVID-19 is completely false.
