An online portal by name Expressnewsghana.com has alleged that Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hawa Koomson shot some individuals and journalists at the Steps to Christ polling station in the constituency on election day.

Fact-Check Ghana has verified the claim and found it to be completely false.

Although there was a shooting incident in the constituency on the day of voting, this was not carried out by Ms. Hawa Koomson as published by the news portal.

According to the online news portal, myjoyonline.com, two people have sustained various degrees of  injuries after some unidentified men opened fire on electorates at the Steps to Christ polling station in the Awutu Senya East constituency in the Central Region.

It was reported that the perpetrators came in a black Land Cruiser SUV and shot at some constituents who were in a stationed KIA saloon car. The claim is therefore completely false.
