Claim: An X handle, @Channel8Ghana, shared a flyer claiming John Mahama, the 2024 NDC flagbearer, polled 5,271,758 votes against 3,848,948 votes recorded by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 NPP flagbearer, in the just-ended presidential election.

Source: X

Verdict: False!

Explanation: The Electoral Commission is yet to announce the presidential election results. The EC boss, Jane Mensa, would declare the winner after the results are transmitted to the National Collation Center. Also, Ghana Fact-Checking Coalition contacted the NDC and found no evidence that the party has released such a dashboard as alleged. Shamima Muslim, a member of the NDC communication team, said she had seen the flyer, but could not confirm the source. “I have seen this too, but I can’t confirm where the source is,” she said.
