Bundles of dollars falsely claimed to be from the car of Sammy Gyamfi
SHARE

On May 11, an X account named @Gen_Buhari_ posted an image displaying bundles of dollar bills on a car seat. The user captioned the post: “From Sammy Gyamfi’s car? Goldbod money”.

The post followed a viral video that surfaced online on May 10, 2025, showing GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi handing out dollar notes from his car as a gift to self-styled evangelist and former fetish priestess Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

The post by @Gen_Buhari_, an X account widely known to be a supporter of the opposition New Patriotic Party, suggested that the bundles of dollar notes were from Sammy Gyamfi’s car.

Fact-Check Ghana has worked on this claim and presents the findings in this report.

Claim: Bundles of dollars were found in Sammy Gyamfi’s car.

Verdict: False.

Explanation: A reverse image search conducted by Fact-Check Ghana on the image posted by @Gen_Buhari_ indicated that the image has been online prior to the Sammy Gyamfi and Agradaa incident.

The same image was posted by an Instagram account named @luxurymillionmoney on April 20, 2025, twenty-one (21) days before the Sammy Gyamfi incident occurred.

Fact-Check Ghana also discovered that the same image was posted on a Facebook group named “Port Harcourt Lovers” by an account named “Joel Matthews” on December 1, 2024.

The suggestion, therefore, that the image of the bundles of dollar bills came from Sammy Gyamfi’s car as part of the trending cash-gift saga is false.
