Social Media Artwork Projecting over 50% Win for John Mahama, Akufo-Addo Completely False

A viral photo on social media has suggested that the  candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama had 1,121,839 votes representing 53.83 per cent of total votes cast whereas the candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo had 1,098,943, representing 52.74 per cent of total votes cast as at mid-day December 8,2020.

Fact-Check Ghana verified the claim and concludes that the claim is not only false but also misleading as about Thirteen million Ghanaians participated in the December 7 polls. The percentage of both candidates sum up to 106.57 %.

The photo was generated by some individuals to hoodwink followers.
